THE BREWER BOYS

alternative bluegrass/country/pop duo

www.thebrewerboysmusic.com

This has been pretty busy summer so far and we are enjoying every bit of it! The show at the O’Brien Stage at the Del Mar Fairgrounds a few weeks ago started the ball rolling for us! We really like to thank everyone who came out and showed support! Especially of course to our wonderful music family and friends who travelled all the way south to see us! And we were pretty impressed with the San Diego music crowd whose enthusiasm was so contagious and inspiring! We didn’t expect such a big turnout but a bunch of people stopped by to check us out! Thank you Del Mar Fair!

Spelly’s Pub & Grille’s 1st Anniversary last week was another fun event for us. We were so honored to be invited to help celebrate with Mr Joe & Ms Christina on their 1st year providing awesome food, service, sports and music to the local community! Of course, we have the usual awesome musicians, Mr. Tom Wiker on drums, Mr. Justin Hize on lead/rhythm guitar, and Mr. Ray Agueros on bass rockin’ with us!

We were joined by our good friends and a really great band, Kanan Road who brought the house down with a bunch of their rockin’ original songs! We were so lucky they came out and played with us! Thanks again Kanan, Kory & Kyle!

As one of the bands chosen to open the Old Town Temecula 2011 Hot Summer Nights, we immensely enjoyed the stage in front of the Temecula Valley Cheese Co. last Friday, July 8. We had people dancing on the streets just having fun and the reaction of people watching us was really touching! Thank you again so much to all those we participated and made the effort to come out!

The next show we are gearing for now this time is coming up this Saturday, July 16 in front of the Murrieta City Hall! We will be playing from 6-8pm and we hope the open space and grassy area will entice all to get out of the house, bring a blanket to sit on, and just sing with us!

Again, THANK YOU so much to all of you who has checked out our music and subscribed to our email list! You all truly inspire us to work harder to keep our passion in music even more alive! We truly appreciate all of you!

Please don’t forget to share us with your friends!

We will see all of you at the Murrieta Concert in the Park!

rOcK oN!

happy dad's day to the original "brewer boy"

…to all the DADs out there, happy father’s day 2011 you all!

in celebrating this year’s holiday dedicated just to Dads, we thought we’d write a short blog describing to you someone who we call the original “brewer boy” in our lives!

…born in long island, ny but moved to fairplay, co when he was 6 years old to be a rancher (at least that’s what grandpa john wants to do)! then to pinedale, wy where he spent his very colorful teenage years. scooted off to a boot camp in san diego after high school and served in the u.s. navy on board the nuclear submarine USS Webster.

…after the navy, went to visit germany and ended up staying for 2 years to be a ski bum and traveled his way all over europe in an old volkwagen van! came back to the u.s. and became a commercial diver in galveston, tx where he got tired of shrimp and other sea creatures. went back to school to become a land surveyor while in the army reserve trained in the special forces (this is where we can’t really tell you any details - we were debriefed already! ) came to california for work and lo and behold! met our awesome momma - then the brewer boys were born (within 4 years!)

… as we were growing up, Dad would make sure we were involved in anything outdoorsy or athletic - he’s the kind of guy who would work with his hands.. knowing how to build and fix things (when he gets the time!) he’d take us swimming, snorkelling, fishing, skiing, camping, mountain biking, target shooting, hiking, tree cutting, car repairing - and is always patient - not quick to anger (total opposite of somebody else we know at home… haha). he is passionate in everything he does - and pretty competitive, we may add, always challenging himself on everything he sets his mind to. but he is also really easy, quite funny and such a hardworking man! oh - and he instilled in us his love of animals! benzie & lyka so totally adore him - seriously!

… we give him flying colors on being a DAD! but best of all, what makes it even better is the example he shows us in being such an awesome husband! momma is so smart to have chosen a man who will forever be an inspiration to sons like us! Dad sure takes care of us, provides us with all our needs, disciplines us, and knows how to be our friend - but most of all, loving our momma is what makes him the best DAD in the whole world! HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! we love you!

...is it Summer Vacation yet?

…so yesterday, Monday 6-13-11 officially started summer 2011 for The Brewer Boys. what a relief that all that school work is finally over - at least for the next few months. since we embarked on a sort of hybrid homeschooling arrangement this year, we had to go through a lot of adjustments on our schedules, work load, and even teachers for this school year. not all of it was bad or hard, just new and different. being able to put more time to work on our music was perhaps one of the best things we experienced this year. it was just nice to be able to spend equal time on two of our top priorities - school and music! there were people who said it can’t be done… but i always think that if you put your mind on anything, somehow, somewhere, something will happen…

we look forward to an enjoyable summer… we already know we will be doing a lot of shows and music with our awesome band, Mr. Tom, Ray & Justin H. and of course, our music family - we are kicking off this summer at the Del Mar County Fair on June 26 - Sunday from 6-730 pm at the O’Brien Stage. maybe we’ll see you all there!

so is it Summer Vacation yet for The Brewer Boys? you bet… :) woot woot!

Press Enterprise Local Review "Temecula Brothers Drumming Up a Following"

Here's another article by Mr. Peter Fischetti of the local newspaper, Press Enterprise on their Entertainment page edition on April 2, 2011 about The Brewer Boys. A very candid, light and straight to the point article that talks about the boys, what got them started, and what keeps them going these past years. Thanks again to Mr. Fischetti for that awesome article. Here's the link below in case you missed it! (Also thank you to Ms. Lisa Autry for the file photos for the article).

The Brewer Boys & Friends' St Patrick's Day Show

We just had the best St Patrick’s Day celebration at Spelly’s Pub & Grill on Thursday night! Thanks to Mr Joe Spellman for inviting us to be their band for the night! Together with some awesome friends, Alaina Blair, Kaitlyn Weathers, & Lindsey Carrier, we sang covers of old-time favorites that crossed and criss-crossed a wide range of genre! Awesome musicians, Mr Tom, Ray & Justin performed at their peak and everyone – from cute dancing tykes to seasoned dance floor addicts enjoyed the night. We have to say – the “electric slide” is always a hands-down crowd pleaser! What a great and appreciative crowd and that made a huge difference! Our 4-hour set was extended to another hour – and it could have gone on and on… Again, thanks to our very supportive family and friends who are always there to see us! And to our new friends we made that night, we hope to see you in our next show!
